Getting a manicure has become one of the staples of many women's (and increasingly, men's) beauty regimens. While this process is most often relaxing, fun, and a time of self indulgence, the spas and shops that perform manicures should always take safety precautions to make sure their customers are protected from the many health hazards. Besides wearing gauze masks while performing manicures, manicurists should also sanitize their equipment and tools between clients. As much as possible, everything that comes in contact with their clients' hands and nails should be disposable. One place that can quickly grow bacteria if not kept at the proper temperature and full of properly bleached towels is the towel warmer. Its environment is ripe for bacteria growth, so all spas and shops should take care to keep this piece of equipment properly sterilized.
