News services are agencies that gather news, write news stores, and distribute news stories to many kinds of media. News services sell news stories to newspapers; magazines; Web sites; newsletters; radio stations; television stations; and other kinds of media. Some news services focus their reporting on one topic and normally only distribute news stories about that topic. For example, a news service might only report on business news. Some news services are local and only report on and distribute news stories that are about events taking place in one area. For example, an Atlanta-based news service may just deal with stories about Atlanta. Other news services have bureaus around the world and report on and distribute news stories about a multitude of news topics.
