When your air conditioner goes out during the summer, you begin to realize how much you rely on your automobile's cooling system to keep your vehicle comfortable. Some of the bearings may begin to wear out if you run your air conditioner often, but these parts are easily replaced by a trained technician. Another part of the system that may begin to lose effectiveness over time is the compressor—the blower may lose power if it is run continually. While you can work on most of the components of your air conditioning system yourself, you must visit an auto repair shop to have them check and add Freon. They have the tools and certification necessary to make sure this potentially hazardous refrigerant is handled properly.
