Barbers can be found located in shops in many different localities: residential neighborhoods, downtown business districts, suburban shopping centers, airports and hotels. Barbers like to work in shops that are attractive, clean and well lit. Some barbers work in a location with only one chair while others work in a shop with as many as five or more chairs. Barbers usually do their work in one, small area which means the customer usually does not have to move from station to station to get his hair cut. Barbers in most states are licensed by the State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology.
