To get engravings on jewelry people take the pieces of jewelry to jewelry engravers. Some jewelry engravers specialize in engraving one kind of jewelry such as an engraver who mostly works on the interior or rings. Some jewelry engravers can engrave monograms, words and designs on anything from the back of wristwatches to broaches. Typically people get things like family crests; family coat of arms; single-letter, double-letter and triple-letter monograms; and words etched onto jewelry. Many engravers can both hand engrave a piece of jewelry or use a machine to do the engraving.
