With the many jobs in the theatre and the many different types of theatres, a producer's job and a manager's job may vary; it may depend on the circumstance, the agreement of the unions and the agreement between the producer and manager. Theatrical managers and producers might direct the staging of theatre productions. Producer might be the person who has the ultimate authorization and accountability for the theatrical production. Producer of a theater could be responsible for picking the play while the manager might facilitate in hiring the play's creative team, which might include director, designers and so forth. Producer might hire the manager to administrate the production group.
