Mobile home dealers can assist potential buyers in determining the best mobile homes to suit their needs. The two major types of mobile homes are single-wides and double-wides. A mobile home is classified as a single-wide if it is sixteen feet or less in width and can be towed to its site as a single unit, whereas double-wides are typically twenty-four feet or more wide and are towed to their sites in two separate units, which are then joined together. There are also triple-wides, although these are uncommon. Mobile homes are sometimes confused with modular homes, which are usually transported to their locations on flat-bed trucks rather than being towed, and lack axles and the automotive-type frame that you will find on mobile homes.
