Some people prefer to spend time playing basketball, softball or other sports in their local park. Others use parks to lie out on a blanket and get a little sun. There are also those who enjoy holding birthday parties in the park. A few couples have held their wedding ceremonies and receptions in a park. Many vacationers like to visit national parks to camp, hike, fish, and participate in other outdoor activities. Oftentimes, a city park will allow its citizens to reserve picnic tables, baseball diamonds, basketball courts and other park facilities on a regular basis. Check with the Parks and Recreation Department in your city to find out if citizens may reserve park facilities.
