Adding a new baby to the family also means adding all new furniture to the house. Furniture stores offer a variety of solutions to that age-old question: where do we put the baby? For infants and children, there are a number of answers. When it's bedtime, there are cribs, bassinets, cradles, folding cribs, beds and trundle beds. (And don't forget bedding such as mattresses, bumpers and sheets.) Time for a diaper change? Changing tables are made just for that purpose, but you can also use the top of the dresser or chest of drawers or the bed, with a proper pad to protect your property. Playtime? Try playpens or portable play yards. Dinnertime? High chairs are always a hit, although for the younger set, being cuddled by mom in a glider or rocker may be the way to go. As kids get older, you may need to add gates, chairs, lamps, cabinets, carpets or rugs, desks and storage to make room for all your new stuff.
