Many people that enjoy a bird watching hobby choose to purchase or build bird feeders and bird houses to attract birds to the yards. Birds that have a diet of seeds will be attracted to your lawn when you fill the feeders with the types of seeds that they eat. If you want to get a bird feeder, then you might decide to get one that has ledges so that the birds can eat while perching on the feeder.
