Inspection bureaus may perform inspections either on a regular basis or semi regular basis. An inspection bureau may inspect monthly, yearly, quarterly, or on any other schedule, depending on the inspection bureau and what is being inspected. Many fields use inspection bureaus to maintain certain standards. A fire inspection bureau will inspect to make sure that facilities in prisons, hospitals, nursing homes and other facilities have adequate fire safety equipment and that buildings are maintained to code. Some inspection bureaus focus on work performed by contractors in areas that include electrical work, plumbing work, and sewage lines. Inspection bureaus are also found in the lumber industry.
