When a loan or other financial transaction is secured with the inventory or stock that the borrower owns, the lender will often have that loan-securing inventory stored at a field warehouse that is owned by a field warehouse company or a field warehouse firm. Field warehousing companies and field warehousing firms specialize in storing inventory that has been used to secure a loan and in making sure that loan-securing inventory is what the borrower said it would be and that it remains at levels sufficient enough to keep the loan secured. Some field warehouses may be used to store different types of items that have been put up as collateral or as loan security.
