When parents want their children to experience something different for the summer or a portion of the summer, they often send their kids to resident camps. Resident camps are also called summer camps and sleep-away camps. Some resident camps cater to disabled children and disabled youths. Some summer camps are themed and cater to youths with certain interests or proclivities, such as a computer camp. Most resident camps cater to all kinds of youths and are places where they can bond with other kids and learn outdoor skills and many crafts. Some youth camps cater to disadvantaged youths from tough neighborhoods. Some youth camps are for-profit businesses while others are run by religious organizations or non-profit organizations. Some sleep-ways camps mostly cater to youths of a certain ethnicity.
