A transmission is the parts of an automobile that helps transmit power from the engine to some sort of output device using a hydraulic or gear system. In manual transmission cars, the transmission is the part of the internal combustion engine that is used to help change gears which can cause a slow down the output speed of the engine and increase torque. Due to heavy use, a car's transmission can often become damaged or broken.
