You can purchase beautiful, handcrafted baskets in most department stores; and the greatest part of buying these baskets is that they have a handmade look, even though they are not. You can buy rustic, woven baskets; or, if you want a more modern look, visit a gift shop to see if they have any gift baskets that can be reused as insulated picnic coolers later. You can ask the store's staff to fill your basket with fruit, cheese, nuts, coffee, or whatever items you feel the recipient would most appreciate. For Christmas baskets, most gift shops and department stores will have placed decorations, such as poinsettias and pine garlands, in the basket and then filled them with candy and small gifts.
