Horses, donkeys and mules are all animals that may be breed and sold by those who sell equines. There are many different kinds of equine breeders that might specialize in certain equines or certain kinds of horses. Many breeders of horses and other equines produce and sell horses that are used for racing or showmanship. These horses are usually bred from horses that have been successful in racing or in equestrian shows. Horses sold by horse and equine dealers for racing or showmanship are typically much more expensive than horses that are sold for use on a farm, ranch or for personal use. Dealers of horses and other equines may also buy equines from individuals that no longer need them. Frequently the owner of a race horse may sell their horse to a dealer of equines and horses after it can no longer race competitively.
