Hard Mortgage doesn’t always mean high interest rates. It really refers to the extra effort in processing the loan. Most mortgage lenders are unwilling to put forth the extra effort to underwrite a mortgage that doesn’t pass on the automated underwriting engine. Of course “A” borrowers are in a word “easy” to underwrite, where clients with credit problems can be “hard” to underwrite.
