My career in design began in setting up an art retail/wholesale shop with a private studio in which decorative painting, water color and pastels classes were taught. There I had the pleasure of instructing adult and children`s classes on a weekly timeline.

Eventually the efforts of creating and streamlining learning materials for students led to my own instructional publications. These publications brought me quickly to the marketing business in having to negotiate sales to national art materials distributors and retail business.

The instructional design publications brought me to the doorstep of graphic design. Having considered the cost effectiveness of presenting my publications pre-flighted to process printing, investments in hardware and desktop publishing software were in order.

Photoshop was my choice in the day over Coral Draw as it struck me as more process printing savvy at the time. At this time Aldus Pagemaker accompanied Photoshop for paginating publications and a new world of digital media was opened to me.

This new media involving so many new learning curves such as process printing output specifications to Linotype Hell, color separations, file formats for different applications, resolutions, etc. Little did I know then that this new learning curve would become an endless adventure.
