A bistro is a type of restaurant. More often then not, a restaurant that calls itself a bistro specializes in selling French food or Continental food. Most bistros have very good wine lists. Some bistros sell food that fuses French cuisine with another cuisine. Many bistros are moderately-priced restaurants, however, some bistros can be very expensive. Although true French bistros are not fine-dining establishments, some bistros in America are quite expensive. Sometimes celebrity chefs open bistros in larger cities. Most bistros are open for lunch and dinner. Patrons of bistros are often served by professional servers, waiters and waitresses. The menus of many bistros change daily or weekly although many keep some items permanently on the menu.
