While some musicians choose to perform by themselves, the majority of them seem to prefer performing in an ensemble. While there are many different types of musicians that play songs in different styles, this seems to be an overwhelming trend. While many people think of a music ensemble as being a group of musicians that plays music styles such as Christian, choir, and gospel, this is only because they don't think of pop rock bands as being ensembles. Really, though, regardless of whether a band plays heavy metal, soul, R&B, or western music, the musical groups are ensembles. The many types of music ensembles give different types of musicians the chance to perform the styles of music that they prefer with other like-minded performers.
