Darts is a game in which darts are thrown at a target hung on a wall. This target is called a dartboard. Dartboards are usually made of sisal fibers and each section is lined with thin metal wire. The numbers indicating the various scoring sections of the board are normally made of wire, especially on tournament-quality boards, but may be printed directly on the board instead. The dartboard is properly mounted so the bull's-eye is exactly 5 feet 8 inches from the floor. In dart tournaments, players stand at one of two authorized distances from the board: 7 feed 9¼ inches, or 8 feet. A player scores from 1 to 20 points by hitting different wedges on the dartboard.
