The job of a real estate consultant is similar to that of a real estate agent, barring a few key differences. A real estate consultant's job is not always to make a commission by selling you a home or apartment, but to discuss real estate with you and determine, among other factors, the current market, the rates on the property you are looking for, and to help broker the deal between you and realtor or whomever is selling or leasing the property. Real estate consultants compensation is usually fee based, and their job is not that of a salesperson, but to ensure that the buyer reaches a logical decision when they decide to buy or lease.
