When manufacturing companies product parts or products that are make out of sheet metal, plastics or composites they may have small tabs of unwanted material, or burrs, attached to them. Before the manufacturer can sell the products to assemble the parts into a final product they may need to be deburred. A manufacturer may purchase deburring equipment from a deburring equipment manufacturer to deburr their own parts and products or they may send the parts to a company that specializes in deburring. A deburring company may employ workers that can perform the deburring process by hand or they may use various deburring machines.
