A denturist may be a health care professional that specializes in creating dental prostheses. Denturists may attend a two or three year college denturist technology curriculum to obtain their degree. After graduation a denturist may serve an internship with a denture clinic and then may be licensed or certified. A denturist may work directly with a patient who needs prostheses such as bridges, and full or partial sets of dentures. A denturist may take impressions of their patient's mouth or teeth and use them to craft the required prosthesis. The denturist may need to perform minor adjustments to the prosthesis to insure proper fit.
