Glaziers are craftspeople who work with glass. Glaziers are responsible for selecting, cutting, installing, replacing, and removing all types of glass. The work of glaziers can be found in a wide range of projects. In residential construction, glaziers perform work such as replacing glass in home windows; installing glass mirrors, shower doors, and bathtub enclosures; and fitting glass for tabletops and display cases. On commercial interior projects, glaziers install items such as heavy, often etched, decorative room dividers or security windows. When a storefront window for a retail establishment needs replacing, a glazier is the one to do it. Glaziers also work on large commercial projects, building metal framework extrusions or installing glass panels or curtain walls.
