Today's modern aircrafts are very sophisticated machines that must carry passengers safely and quickly in order to keep our global society functioning. When a jet or another type of aircraft needs repair, only professionals who have obtained the proper certification should be allowed to maintain them. These trained technicians can usually work on everything from the voice recorder, to the altitude monitoring equipment, to even completing an engine overhaul. Once the technicians have completed their work, they will most likely perform an equipment calibration to make sure everything is properly aligned and working as a complete system. The study of avionics technology is quite specialized, and these technicians have had to go through many hours of study and apprenticeship in order to gain the certification necessary to work on aircrafts.
