Glass wholesalers sell to artists and craftspeople in a variety of fields, for a variety of purposes. Some artisans buy containers such as jars, jugs, bowls, then use paint, powders and chemicals to create designs (clear, translucent, opaque or frosted) on the outsides of the containers. Other craftspeople use glass beads to decorate lamps that use either bulbs or candles to create projected patterns when illuminated. Mosaic artists use round, square, rectangular or irregular glass pieces - often recycled from broken bottles and glasses - to assemble beautiful stepping stones, tabletops and tiles in every color of the spectrum. Stained glass artisans buy leaded glass from suppliers to create handmade window hangings, vases and other artworks.
