Taxidermists require many different supplies and tools to do their work. These include special knifes and cutters which can remove excess meat and other tissue from animals they are preserving. Specific taxidermist supplies and tools are usually made for different kinds of animals, the cutting devices for fish are different than the ones used for deer and elk. Special scalpel and scalpel blades are also used by most taxidermists when preparing an animal. Taxidermists supplies can also include special needles and sewing equipment that is made for use on animal hide and fur.
