Aerial advertising allows companies to place alternative media in highly visible areas, such as over the grandstands of a NASCAR race, or above the beach during outdoor sporting events. Aerial advertising is available in a variety of forms, including vinyl banners or heli-banners, towed by airplane or helicopter; logos and signs on hot air balloons; skywriting or skytyping (uses puffs of smoke to form dot-matrix form words); and mobile, scrolling messages in lights across the billboard areas of blimps. Aerial media placement is advantageous for many reasons - it's temporary, nontraditional and attention-getting. It's an ideal form of advertisement for outdoor events due to its unconventionality, and one which can be utilized at a variety of cost levels, making it cost-effective for a variety of advertisers.
