Many agricultural chemical wholesalers sell agrichemicals such as pesticides, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, and fertilizers to farmers that want to help control the growing environment of their crops. These chemicals can be used to help crops grow, but they are often toxic to the insects, plants, and fungi that farmers do not want in their fields. These chemicals kill these unwanted insects, plants, and fungi so that they cannot cause any damage to the crops that the farmers are trying to grow. Many farmers choose to apply these chemicals to their crops by spraying them on their fields or by dropping them on their fields from overhead by using airplanes.
