Dairy products are a staple of the American diet. From pouring milk over our cereal in the morning, to eating cheeseburgers at lunch, to spooning dollops of whipped cream over our pies for dessert, dairy products find their way to the dining table at virtually every meal. Dairy products are any food product derived from milk, usually that of a cow. In the United States, cow's milk is often extracted on an industrial scale for human consumption and industrial uses. Dairy farming has become such a large business that in many dairies the process is highly automated. Diary products can be purchased at a wide variety of retail stores, including grocery stores, convenience stores, and specialty stores that concentrate on dairy products.
