Day nurseries, also known as daycare centers, provide a variety of childcare options for children from babies through elementary school. For infants, toddlers and preschool-age children, day nurseries offer full-day care, offering plenty of playtime as well as educational guidance for older children. For kindergartners and older kids, before- and afterschool care gives kids a place to receive tutoring, focus on play, or take special lessons like violin, gymnastics, dance or sports. Many daycare facilities have full-time video surveillance of each room (sometimes known as "nanny cam" systems), allowing constant monitoring of child and teacher behavior. Many day nurseries are run by private schools, but elementary and middle schools, churches, and healthcare centers (as well as private providers) also sponsor daycares or afterschool programs. A lucky few working parents have business-funded daycare available.
