When senior citizens grow tired of taking care of a house and want to downsize their accommodations they often move into senior housing. Senior housing complexes are apartment complexes or condominium complexes that only allow residents who are over 60 years of age or 65 years of age. Some retirement communities predominantly consist of senior housing. When an elderly person needs constant care but not constant medical care, they will often move into an assisted-living center or assisted-living home. At assisted-living homes seniors are watched by personnel but not constantly monitored by medical personnel. Nursing homes are places where elderly people move into when they need constant medical supervision. Nursing homes are often moved into when people are in poor health or have chronic medical conditions that require constant attention.
