Some landscape consultants are hired because they have in-depth knowledge of the area that a client is planning to landscape. For example, a landscape designer might hire landscape consultants to help them on projects by bringing knowledge of local conditions, such as weather and soil, and plants and trees, to a project. Landscape consultants in a locale may be able to advise clients on flora that is to be avoided in an area, either because of local conditions or regulatory requirements that forbid certain flora from being brought in to the local area. Landscape consultants can advise clients on overall landscape planning or in troubleshooting specific problems.
