Often high-end businesses or businesses located in areas where parking is at a premium contract with a parking attendant firm. Parking attendant firms are often called valet service companies. Individuals sometimes hire valet service companies to park the cars of guests to large parties, receptions or gatherings. Businesses hire valet service firms because it is often less expensive to do so than it would be to employ valets. Some high-end retailers hire valet service firms. Some high-end restaurants hire valet service firms and many restaurants use valet service firms on the weekends. Parking attendant service firms also watch over the parked cars assuring their security. Valets park the cars of customers or guests when they arrive and retrieve the cars when the owners leave.
