Many silicate materials do not release easily and should not be used around products that may retain these chemicals. If you are not sure if a glue or encapsulant is removable, it is very important to read the manufacturers' information, which is usually available on the packaging materials. The purpose of the glues is to provide a coating that seals with the surrounding surfaces, which means the products will be potentially permanently sealed. Surfaces that are more porous will more likely need a gel to provide the seal, such as a liquid cement or putty. Usually liquid cement will provide the thick encapsulant needed to bond porous materials quickly.
