Most ammunition can be purchased for a variety of firearms from an ammunition retailer. Various types of shotgun, rifle, and handgun ammunition can usually be bought for common calibers from ammunition dealers. Ammunition for other weapons like paintball guns, BB guns, and air rifles may also be purchased from an ammunition dealer or retailer. Shotguns may fire slugs or buckshot ammunition. Buckshot ammunition shells come in different grains and lengths. Shotguns may or may not accept different lengths of shotgun ammunition shells. Some handguns and rifles will also take different lengths of ammunition shells. Ammunition is considered hazardous and should be stored and handled with care. A number of ammunition manufacturers sell ammunition of different lengths, types, and calibers.
