An audiologists is usually someone who specializes in disorders of the auditory or vestibular portions of the body and who are trained to treat them in children and adults. In order to gain their certification to practice, most states require that audiologists receive their master's degree in audiology, as well as pass a rigorous certification process that includes completing several hours of supervised clinical experience. There are two main forms of national certification for audiologists, the ABA and the CCC-A.
