Generally, an automobile is considered an antique if it is greater than 25 years in age. However, it is harder to determine if it is a classic automobile. While the two terms, classic and antique, are often used interchangeably in reference to automobiles, they are not the same. Formally, only certain high-value automobiles from pre-World War II are considered classic cars. Many people enjoy buying, selling, collecting and restoring antique and classic automobiles. Those who collect them often like to show them off at antique and classic automobile shows, where enthusiasts of these types of vehicles can gather to display their collections, view the collections of others, and share their enthusiasm for antique and classic automobiles.
