The Internet can be an excellent resource for finding musical bands in your area. Many bands list themselves with online databases, allowing you to search for local bands based on various criteria, including the type of music you are interested in. When evaluating bands to hire for your wedding, party or other event, there are various criteria that you will want to consider. You may first want to check with your venue for any noise or space restrictions. Ask the manager what size band has worked best in the past. Once you have found bands in your area, listen to tapes, watch videos, or if possible, go listen to the band play. Note how the musicians interact with the audience and the variety of music they play. Tell the bands what type of music you want played, such as swing and jazz.
