Barbers specialize in hair and skin services for men. Most barbers are trained to do facials, shaving, massage, hair color and permanent waving. However, due to the availability of a wide array of commercial personal hair care products for men, like shavers and hair coloring, the major focus of barbers is on hair cutting and adapting current styles to their customers' wants. Barbers consider what they do to be "Precision Hair Cutting". Some barbers get training through the military and others attend schools for barbers. In order to get their license, barbers in the United States still need to know how to give shaves.
