How to Choose Barricades
--Types of Barricades--
There are several types of barricades and fencing available. In cases where visibility can be an issue, it may be best to use barricades with reflective stripes or flashing lights. Brightly-hued plastic temporary cyclone fencing, plastic safety fencing and portable manhole barricades are highly visible, even in poor lighting, durable enough to withstand the elements, and sturdy enough to resist toppling over in winds. Whatever forms of barricades and fencing you use, make sure that it is in accordance with local laws. Make sure, also, that the barricades and fencing are clearly visible to pedestrians and vehicles. When using barricades at hazardous zones, it is often a good idea to provide some type of sign to explain the problem - even a simple sign such as “road work” will do - and to alert passers by of the exact danger
