Ask the company if they are insured and bonded to help protect yourself from companies that might try to take your money and run or sue you if someone gets hurt while building. When you talk to the contractors, try to give them some info about the help that you need. Do you need solutions for excess dampness, mildew, mud, and silt build up? If so, then be sure to tell them so that they have a good idea of what services you might need. Ask them when they will be able to come to your home to check the condition of your basement and discuss what they will be building.
