How to Choose Birds
Birds are vertebrate, warm blooded, egg-laying animals that are often colorful and make pleasant sounds by singing. While most birds are experts at flying, some, such as emus and ostriches, are bipedal, terrestrial animals. Like mammals, they are warm-blooded vertebrates, but they lay eggs instead of giving birth to live young and they do not produce food for their young with their bodies. If you would like to purchase an exotic bird, then you should contact a bird dealer that can help you choose the breed of large or small birds with colorful feathers that will appeal to you. There are many different types of birds that you can keep as a pet. Few people keep birds as small as hummingbirds as pets because they are not the right size. Ask the birds dealers how long they have been in business. A dealer that has several years of experience should have access to many different species of singing, exotic birds with colors you like. Unfortunately, some birds are extinct or protected. These extinct breeds are gone forever and protected species cannot be kept as pets. Ask the dealer if your exotic birds will be happy living in cages and eating seeds. Some breeds live better in these conditions while others need room for flying. You should also ask them what kind of sounds they make to communicate with each other so that you can get one that has a pleasant sound. Some birds can learn to repeat words, which can be a source of entertainment. Ask the dealer if they offer services like quotes and references to help you choose the one that’s best for you.

Like mammals, birds are vertebrate animals. These vertebrate animals, however, are different from mammals in that they reproduce by laying eggs rather giving birth to live young. Many bird species are able to fly, but some are flightless. Some of the most popular flightless species of birds are ostriches, penguins, emus, and the now extinct dodo. Many people choose to keep exotic birds as pets. These exotic birds have colorful feathers that can be pleasing to look at. Colorful feathers are also sometimes used as decorations. Hunting and environmental changes have made many bird species extinct. Those that are at a threat of extinction are placed on a protective list that forbids people from hunting them.
