Traditional boarding houses are not as common as they used to be, but they offer a different, and usually cheaper, experience than a person can find at a hotel or apartment. A boarding house will usually offer a room for rent on a short or long-term basis for a people to live in. When a person rents a room from a boarding house they often only get one room, and will often share a kitchen and bathroom with other people in the house. Boarding houses are usually less expensive than other housing options because of this. Boarding houses are frequently used as temporary houses for people who have moved, or by people who frequently travel.
