Many tourist centers that are on or near a body of water will have boat excursions available for visitors to their area. Boat excursions can range from leisurely paddleboat cruises on a calm lake to wet and wild jet boat excursions on a raging river to peaceful kayaking around a wildlife-rich island. Boat excursions can also vary greatly in size. Some boat excursions are on large boats with hundreds of people, while others might be on a 2-person canoe. Some boat excursions can include food, such as dinner cruises, while others are geared around a particular recreational activity, such as fishing or snorkeling.
