How to choose or find camps day
Day camps provide children with social, educational and physical outlets, as they often involve sports, music, or science. Young boys and girls or teens are often are sent to day camps by their parents to get intense physical or education opportunities they wouldn’t otherwise get. Day camps can include summer, soccer, basketball, swim, music, space, and more. They are often held at campgrounds, parks, fields, or lakeside areas. If it’s an overnight or summer camp, children are separated into cabins and given their own bed or bunk. They are usually assigned a day camp counselor or leader, who then assigns a captain for teams. Sometimes camps, such as soccer camps, are run daily, for a few hours at a time, with no overnight stays. Travel soccer camps, for instance, may travel around the state a few times a week to compete. Camps are thought to be important to proper growth and development in teens and children, as well as proper social interaction skills, education, exercise and the ability to explore. Day camps are typically put on by city recreation departments, private day camp providers, organizations and associations. If you would like to learn more about day camps in your community, contact a counselor, provider, organization, or recreation association by looking in your local phone book or searching online directory listings. In addition, check out your local community center or school to inquire about day camps for your kid. Ask other parents for advice and recommendations as well as to the best recreation and sports programs in the area.
