Some prefer the smell of live Christmas trees, while others enjoy the convenience and easy clean up that artificial Christmas trees can provide. Christmas trees are usually a variety of evergreen, including cedar, cypress, fir and spruce. The state of Oregon produces the most live Christmas trees in the United States, but Christmas trees are grown in all 50 states, including Alaska and Hawaii. Most Christmas trees are cut weeks before they get to a retail outlet.
