How to Choose and How to Find Churches
Churches are places of worship where people go to pray and read from a bible. There are many different types of churches, such as Catholic, Baptist, Anglican, Apostolic, Assembly of God, Bible, Christian, Christian Fellowship, Christian Reformed, Christ Community, Christ the King, Crossroads, Calvary, Cathedral, Episcopal, Evangelical, Evangelical Free, Emergent, Faith, Faith Baptist, Fellowship, Foursquare, Gateway, Grace, Harvest, Hope, Journey, Independent, Latter Day Saints, Lutheran, Mennonite, Methodist, Missionary, Mission, Mormon, Nazarene, non-denominational, Orthodox, Pentecostal, Presbyterian, Protestant, Reformed, Revolution, Rock, Sacred Heart, Seventh Day Adventist, Tabernacle, Temple, Trinity, Unity, Vineyard, Unitarian, United Methodist, and Wesleyan. Thousands of churches exist all over the country, inviting worshippers in for prayer and salvation. Many churches and parishes call their sermons or preachings different things, but they all have one thing in common: coming together in prayer and unity. Many churches such as Apostolic help the community by opening up missions. Most churches hold weekly gatherings. In the Catholic church, it's called Mass. Priests say the Mass, while in other churches and beliefs the leader is called a preacher. Most churches or assemblies feature a church covenant, or a way of beliefs that worshippers follow. Whatever religion you follow, there is a church for you. In many cities churches have been known to help Narcotics anonymous and Alcoholics anonymous meeting with a place for meetings and gatherings. You can find churches in your local phone book or by searching online directory listings. Be specific in your search, entering the exact denomination you're interested in.

Some churches belong to the National Council of Churches to promote common interests of their religious communities. Churches often reach out to other religious groups to find common bonds and create interfaith initiatives, such as coalitions between Jews and Christians or Christians and Muslims. Some churches are non-denominational and do not align their mission and teachings to an established denomination. Denominational churches usually belong to a religious group that has a long and established history and following. To find a church that is right for you, research the different types of churches, seek out what they believe and see if your faith and allegiances agree with them.
