Sometimes companies find it easier to lease employees from an employee leasing company or from a professional employer organization (PEO). Employee leasing companies are companies that actually employ workers that they “lease” out to other companies. While on lease the workers do work for the company that is leasing them but because they actually work for the employee leasing company, the employee leasing company handles all their health benefits, workers' compensation claims, payroll, payroll tax compliance and unemployment insurance claims. Professional employer organizations specialize in handling all employee related matters such as for the companies that hire them. PEOs do not actually employ workers, they just provide human resource related services such as payroll, workers' compensation, and employee benefits for their clients.
